Following Anne Frank and her family from 1939 to 1945, their world shifts from creeping fears to the full force of the German invasion. As danger closes in, they go into hiding in Amsterdam, clinging to hope while the outside world collapses. Capture and deportation bring unthinkable hardship, culminating in the solitary return of Anne's father, carrying the memory of all that was lost.
